*The Soul Roles origninates from a new-age channeled source. Each role describes a soul's fundamental perspective and thinking about the world. Most souls are a combination of some to all of these roles, but generally, one "flavor" of thinking is emphasized more than the others.
Warriors are forceful souls; they embody qualities of strength, loyalty, courage and determination. They view the world as a challenge to be won. Like Kings, Warriors are action-oriented beings, and therefore down-to-earth, focused, strategic, and very willful. Warriors see life as a battlefield. At their best, Warriors overcome challenges and protect life, or fight for a good cause. At their worst, they bully and intimidate others to get what they want.

Like Warriors, Kings are action-oriented souls. But whereas Warriors are attracted to action on the front line, King souls prefer to be in a commanding position from which they can oversee and run the entire operation. Natural born leaders, others look to them with authority, respect, and admiration. Warriors fight battles, Kings wage Wars. At their best, Kings lead and organize others to achieve great goals through determination and confidence. They almost always (unless other traits decide otherwise) assume responsibility for situations and events. At their worst, they disregard others' will and use them as minions and puppets to achieve their ends.

Artisan souls represent the essence of creativity and invention. As with Sages, the energy of Artisans is expression-oriented, turning inner thoughts and feelings into things which can be perceived and enjoyed by others. Artisans prefer to connect indirectly through their ideas rather than directly to an audience. At their best, Artisans create imaginative and valuable forms and functions, arts and sciences for everyone's benefit and pleasure. At their worst, Artisans can escape into a world of daydreams, impracticality, and delusion.

The Sage soul type embodies the essence of expressive communication. Like Artisans, Sages are expression-oriented souls. Both like to play with ideas which they can express to others in some form. They differ in that Sages desire to directly connect with an audience, whereas Artisans prefer to connect indirectly through ideas, art, functions, and forms. Sages are the natural Story-tellers of Life. At their best, Sages connect and communicate valuable emotions and ideas with others. At their worst, the talk for the sake of their own voice. However, not all Sages are extraverted and talkative. If their other traits decide, they can spend their life using their personal understanding through introspection.

Healers embody an energy of service, care, and helpfulness. As with Priest souls, the consciousness of Healers is inspiration-oriented. But whereas Priests seek to inspire the masses, Healers seek to improve the lives of individuals in more hands-on, down-to-earth ways. They are naturally caring and helpful souls who live to be of benefit to others. At their best, Healers serve others needs in healing and helping the common good, with a positive energy. At their worst, Healers allow themselves to become slave-like and relinquish their will.

More than any other soul type, Priests feel a sense of mission, a higher calling, a need to make the world a better place. They do so by igniting and galvanizing the a sense of purpose in others. They move the masses and transform the conversation of human consciousness. Like Healers, Priest souls are both inspired and inspiring. They differ in the sense that Priests want to help all of humanity through some "greater good," whereas Healers are concerned with the "common good." At their best, Priests see others as their family and flock and lead them to a better life. At their worst, Priests become blinded and consumed by achieving their vision at all costs.

The Scholar represents the most neutral aspect of consciousness — assimilation. Scholars are designed to assimilate (absorb) information from the world around them. Their role in life is to develop and maintain our collective knowledge and understanding. At their best, Scholars view the world as a giant experiment to be learned from, tested, and explored. They tend to be unbiased and contemplative. At their worst, they become obsessed with theories with no practical value.
